A Licence to Hack (be careful what you say yes to)

Would you provide a cold caller full access and control to your Social Media pages?
I decided to get blogging once more in order to more effectively state a concern I have about variouos social media and gaming Apps requiring access to personal data and passwords before the App can be used.(A Licence to Hack)

I love my IPad2 and my IPhone , I regularly download new applications (apps) free and paid for and usually enjoy the apps.I have however, for some time now, realised how often I cannot connect to Twitter,Facebook,Tumbl.r via a good percentage of my apps (presupposing that as they are on my equipment the app is now mine) without being asked to accept terms that allow the producer(developer) of the app direct access to my social media data,including my passwords, and the ability to not just read but also add content.Additionally more developers ask for my location data.

I am interested in how many users understand they are accepting these terms if they are using the app, as most will not allow you to continue to use the app (or in the case of Facebook games play the game) without you agreeing to giving them a licence to access your data.

What does this mean? It means that a great number of individuals are allowing third parties access to private information and the capability of adding or changing that information.Is this not information hacking?

Feel free to provide me with evidence to the contrary or even suggestions as to how to review all my apps as I have probably approved a licence to Hack unknowingly.

(Guess I will change all my passwords again)

(The latest update,I wanted to tweet an interesting article from a Scientific site(I’ll not be more explicit) today and they asked for access to my Twitter app including password…Why?)

Market Forces or Panic ?

And so having had a weeks break in not so sunny but relaxing Cornwall,we have arrived back to the land of “Moving House” where the market has slowed and we are being advised to drop the original price of the property.All well and good if the advise suggested we drop by the same amount as the reports are saying (1.5% ish) but no we are being advised to drop the value by 7-8%. I wonder if the Estate Agent will drop the commision expected by the same amount? Not likely huh and I shall be having that conversation I think.

We were not the only ones to have a break as Fionn (our looney Irish Terrier)had a weeks break from us and is back with a vengance continously checking we are not going to dissapear without him and therefore Angela and I have an additional shadow (hmm wonder if he has any advise about the house market?)

So as the theme of this blog is about reality I guess we are adjusting our representation of the house market yet again (and the associated internal states that are inevitably bubbling to consciousness).

Holiday shift

We are just in the process of getting ready to leave for a well earned week in Cornwall. Books packed,that will do.

Angela has organised and arranged the trip and has put her hand up to drive what a gem, I’m about to change (clothing) finish this post and register in with whoever organises shifting realities. Be back in a week.

Football shifts reality for millions.

In an hour or so England will play to remain in the FIFA World Cup. Millions of people will (if they are not at the stadium) be watching two teams play a game.Of those fans who take the game seriously (whatever that means) for a period of time they will be so engrossed that they will forget all else around them not connected with what they watch and how they feel. For a short period of time some will be a very real part of the team they support.They will kick every ball,feel every foul,shout obscenities and their physiology will change as will their thought processes until they exchange their agreed reality (the one they live in most) with a different reality , and maybe for a short period of time they will be in the flow,focused,engaged not processing how to pay bill’s, or sort out conflicting relationships. For a short period of time “Football will change their reality”. And what about those that decide not to join them. To those who don’t it might look like madness, for we label those that do not fit our reality mad, do we not?

So enjoy your reality…..And “COME ON ENGLAND”  :)

Moving House

We have decided to move house.A big shift as it is the family home and a big surprise that in the process of selling we have been shunted into seeing the house in a completely new way.

The rooms are considerably bigger than how Angela and I saw them only two weeks ago.The possibilities of decorating the house internally have expanded as we are forced to look objectively at the space we have lived in for twenty three years and how others may perceive it.

As a professional Agent of Change it has come as no surprise that the reality Angela and I have built around us is being changed every morning as we prepare for visits from individuals we have invited to view the property (not a house,certainly no longer a home as we knew it) with the intention of giving them the opportunity to build a new reality in this particular space /time location.

Meanwhile we plan our forays into new spaces ,undoing others localised realities in a bid to discover a new world for us to explore.

The biggest decisions we are making are what memories, artefacts,and flotsam do we leave behind,and what do we take with us.What areas of our personal histories do we need to keep the illusion going that the world around us is solid and predictable when simply deciding to move house can change the way we engage with and think we understand who we might be?
